The Value Stream Manager is responsible for increasing the ratio of value to non-value and eliminating waste for a defined business unit, and for guiding the value stream to meet or exceed customer requirements. The VSM must be able to view the value stream from a broad perspective, understand key system constraints, identify critical process issues, and utilize the appropriate suite of continuous improvement tools to iterate towards the ideal state. The VSM has a passion for coaching and developing the Lean skillset of value stream associates.
Drive daily and monthly development and execution of Cost to Win (CTW) plan in Core Team/Business Unit/Value Stream - ensure plan is achieved.
Champion Operating System Lean Daily Management System (BDOS LDMS), ensure metrics are understood, and coach Core Team members to follow process and standardized work.
Direct focus to Value Stream performance gaps and coach the development and execution of activities and projects to deliver operations excellence in all dimensions of Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE).
Execute data mining and evaluation to increase process enhancement of Safety Quality Delivery Cost (SQDC) metrics and asset availability.
Coach the employment of a structured problem solving methodology to determine root causation and develop countermeasures for gaps between known and desired condition.
Co-own the Business Unit s roadmap and leads the strategic development of current and future state value stream maps and continuous improvement plans, as well as the implementation of those plans.
Drive a continuous improvement culture via improvement blitzes, involving employees in problem solving and decision making, and recognizing them for exceptional work.
Business Case Development of potential CI projects - Scope of project, Financials, Resources, Schedule.
Integrate activities with other Pre-analytical Systems (PAS) unit-level (HQ) functions, including Operations, CTW, Continuous Improvement, Quality, and Regulatory.
Communicate activities with other PAS manufacturing sites to share Best Practices.
Serve as Business Unit product and process Subject Matter Expert (SME).
BS Degree in engineering or other technical discipline.
Candidate possesses 5+ years of related experience in high speed, high volume manufacturing operations, with additional project engineering or project management leadership skills in a team-based environment.
Moderate knowledge of financial processes (standard costing).
Experience with MS Excel (VLookup, Pivot Tables, etc).
Ability to design, develop, and implement a continuous improvement roadmap to assure attainment in the business strategic and KPI targets.
Mastery of continuous improvement strategies and tools to improve a manufacturing operation (TPM, Lean, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, 5S, SMED, Kaizen, etc).
