Senior Network Systems Engineer

TRC is currently seeking a Senior Network Systems Engineer for a long-term contract opportunity near the Centennial CO area.

Job responsibilities include interfacing with customers to confirm requirements, develop and implement network connectivity, interface with vendors regarding services and network connectivity solutions, perform complex troubleshooting and analysis, perform capacity planning and monitoring, determine ways to improve system reliability/availability/ performance, perform hardware and software upgrades, perform project management, and 24x7 On Call rotation to support critical systems. A Key responsibility is to assist the transition into software defined networking solutions including both private and public cloud-based services. This individual will be responsible to work with engineers and architects to design, implement and support Data Center network solutions

Main Accountabilities:

Develop plans and provides real-time support for the activities to implement network changes and associated components.

Based on system parameters and historic data perform troubleshooting and analysis to determine ways to improve a network’s reliability, scalability and performance.

Work with Architecture and product teams to document requirements, design and implement network solutions

Create and maintain runbooks for change and first level support groups

Support and train other technical Staff and engineers

Maintaining and upgrading existing network solutions.

24x7 On call support when assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s in information technology, computer science, application development, programming, or related degree and/or equivalent work experience

5+ years network experience in a complex data center environment.

In depth experience in TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, SDN (software Defined Networks) technologies including reliable trouble shooting techniques

Experience deploying software defined networks and virtual appliances across multiple data centers and cloud technologies also a must. Experience in server virtualization, work flow orchestration, load balancing and network security principles is a requirement.

Experience deploying multi-data center connectivity including dedicated Cloud connectivity in a multi-fabric environment

Knowledge of Network architecture, design and implementation.

Broad technical skills in DevOps methodology, applications performance, software, operating systems, storage, databases, network and security.

Experience with routing protocols, equal cost routing, packet capture and flow analysis, and Network monitoring.

Preferred Qualifications:

CCNP, CCNA, or recent networking certification

Experience with advanced network routing and switching systems (NEXUS NX-OS , Cisco ACI and Arista or other SDN technologies)

Experience with scripting languages such as Perl, Python and Power Shell

Experience with network orchestration platforms (Ansible, Chef)

Experience with appliance and software network services application load balancing (F5, Citrix or software based)

Experience with secure networking and key management.

Must be able to demonstrate the following business core and leadership competencies, including:

Team-player attitude coupled with a sense of urgency to deliver results

Self-starter able to deliver results with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
