Our client in Atlanta is looking for a Materials Planner to join their growing team. The position provides support to the Warehouse Manager in the day to day operations of the logistics responsibilities for the company. The position is high visibility and is an integral part of the company s overall performance. The objective of the role is to provide 100% delivery performance of client s products to their customers by transferring customer demands into supplier demands. This role is best suited for a very detailed oriented individual that is able to handle multiple time deadlines at once. Attention to detail is critical.
Responsibility for safe working, environmental protection and energy management.
Maintain appropriate records and files, preferably electronically.
Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization in the area of responsibility
Assure compliance with Quality Policy & Guidelines and procedures of the TS16949 based Management System.
Assure compliance Safety and Environmental Protection Policy and the USA safety and environmental health manual.
Assure all relevant Legal, Customer and Group requirements for area of responsibility are met.
Assure quality of all relevant SAP master data. Review and maintain all master data related to planning.
Review data integrity, investigating and resolution of discrepancies including bill of material, item master and part set up and validation.
Set up customer scheduling agreements when new parts or revision changes occur.
Day analysis and correctly clearing of any errors or warnings from customer EDI transmission.
Coordinate daily with external vendors.
Update and review MRP reports with the ability to understand stock shortages, material variances, and customer order shortages.
Update and review Daily Operations reports.
Review and manage change requests from customers and suppliers.
Analyze all customer electronic releases within 48 hours of receipt.
Work with supplier production to ensure 100% on time delivery to Atlanta location.
Properly create shipping documents when the Shipping Coordinator is out.
Analyze inventory levels and customer requirements to establish forecasts for new and replenishment orders, and to optimize inventory levels.
Plan and control appropriate levels of inventory as defined by factors.
Evaluate finished materials and component levels to ensure enough supply is available to meet customer production demands.
Identify, develop and plan inventory reductions for components and finished goods.
Ensure cycle counts and inventory up-to-date and reflected in SAP system.
Evaluate and report significant inventory variance, identify root cause and corrective action for inventory discrepancies.
Monitor and plan new material items as assigned. Ensure purchase orders are released, and item attribute data is entered accurately in ERP system.
Must be able to navigate SAP-MM to check inventory including transit.
Have some experience using forecasting techniques and analysis.
Have some experience in Microsoft Excel and aptitude to quickly learn technical applications.
Possess analytical skills with the ability to utilize data to solve issues or improve processes.
Able to track and trace shipments.
MS Office software knowledge (Excel, Word)
Able to navigate SAP or similar ERP systems to check incoming releases.
Able to maintain excel spreadsheets with data on daily shipments, release quantity, and defined JIT information.
Must have a some understanding of all policies and procedures relative to forecasting, planning, and inventory control.
Experience in SAP-MM module; demand planning and forecasting.
One year experience with MRP system; possess some knowledge of MRP concepts and ERP system functionality and sequencing experience.
