Our customer in the McCalla, Alabama area is currently seeking a Electrical Automation Engineer to join their team on a long term, direct hire basis.

Job Duties:
• Responsible for designing, implementing and commissioning various industrial automation systems to include:
o PLC and HMI programming
o Control panel design
o Process and application specific troubleshooting
o Project management for industrial automation projects
• Hands-on shop and field service support to lead and/or assist various members of our expanding team to successfully complete projects based on sound engineering practices, customer specifications and expectations.

• AC and/or DC Drives and Motors

• Knowledge of schematic, modeling and controls programming software (i.e. ACAD, ETAP, RSLogix)

• Industrial machinery and automation process experience

• Electrical control panel design and layout

• Communication protocols and instrumentation networks

• Knowledge of relevant standards IEC, API, NFPA, ISA, CSA, MSHA
• 50% Desk work, 50% Field work
• Write new programs, convert programs, and make upgrades to current programs
• Heavily customer facing, and customer focused
• 50% travel within a 4-hour perimeter (company truck provided): **Travel Note: We thrive as an Electrical Engineering company rooted in engineering fundamentals. Because of this, our company focuses on delivering exceptional engineering to repeat customers within only a few hours driving time from the Birmingham, AL area. Travel for us is currently defined as not spending the day at the McCalla office with customer locations most commonly within 0-4 hours from the Birmingham, AL area.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program (preferably Electrical or Mechanical)
• Proven leadership abilities
• Solid fundamental Electrical Engineering knowledge to support troubleshooting initiatives
• 3- 5+ years relevant experience for a Senior level position

• 4 years relevant experience
• Creative problem solving with a customer-based perspective
• Excellent writing, presentation, and verbal skills
• PLC & HMI Programming (Rockwell, Siemens, GE, Omron, or others)
• Vision, Sensors and Robotic Systems
• Industrial Ethernet/IP & Profinet Communications and Network Design
• Knowledge of schematic, controls programming software (ACADE, Studio5000, TIA Portal)
• Industrial machinery and automation process experience
• Electrical control panel design
• Knowledge of relevant electrical standards (NEC, UL)
