Business Development Manager

TRC is conducting a search for a Western Business Development Manager to work as a permanent employee with a UK-based, global manufacturer and supplier of automation and controls solutions.
This position requires 50% overnight travel within the western state territory, which includes California, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Utah, and Idaho.
This is an excellent role for someone who wants to work directly with the North America Sales Manager, based in Atlanta, in growing the company through the implementation of sales and the development of market strategies. The company is a highly entrepreneurial business, so we are looking for someone with a high level of ambition and hunger!
Business Development Manager
Identifies and targets potential customers, services and maintains existing customers, and improves customer relations to increase market share & market penetration.
Establishes professional relationships with appropriate customer personnel (engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, quality assurance, management, or other key personnel).
Visits & Secures orders from existing and potential customers by means of interacting at the customer facility and/or contacting by phone via cold calling, establishing a direct relationship.
Maintain CRM data, visits, and opportunities for assigned distributors and customers
Develops, in conjunction with management, sales strategies to sell applicable product lines and services. Implementing such to achieve predetermined annual sales targets.
Analyses and researches pertinent information to respond to Customer inquiries regarding product features and performance, product application, product substitution, and special application requests.
Primary market focus to be Industrial Controls and Solar
Customer base to include a mix of direct and distribution customers
Territory to include California, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Utah, Idaho
50% Overnight travel within territory required
Experience and Skills:
Bachelor's degree or Technical equivalent Business or Engineering
Minimum of 3 to 5 years professional sales experience
Outside or Inside Sales environment experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Working knowledge in Solar or Factory/Process Automation and Industrial Control products
Effective oral and written communication skills
Proven and demonstrable history of territory growth achievements
Strong time and project management skills with multi-tasking capability
Must be fluent in MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
