Job Description

TRC PROFESSIONAL SOLUTIONS seeks a BI Business Analyst for a full time role with a leading utilities provider based in Jefferson, GA.

POSITION OBJECTIVES: To provide data analysis and project management services for the Strategic Planning and Analytics Department, including collaboration with all business units to identify business intelligence, reporting, and data analysis needs and working closely with users and Information Technology to translate data into critical information and knowledge that can be used to make sound business decisions; to work with business units to determine business requirements and priorities, and define key performance indicators (KPIs); to design and document dashboards and reports; to provide support in strategic planning, rate tracking and planning, and risk mitigation strategies; to provide leadership and independent initiatives in facilitating information gathering, structured documentation, and communication in a team oriented environment in accordance with the vision, mission, and values of the Company.

EDUCATION: Require Bachelor s Degree in Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related quantitative field. Prefer Graduate Degree with course work in project management, statistical analysis, data mining, strategy, forecasting, or finance. Prefer CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management) Certification, PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification, and/or PMI-PBA (PMI Professional in Business Analysis).

EXPERIENCE: Require a minimum of the most recent three (3) years progressive experience in a related field of business analysis, planning, statistics, forecasting or related technical experience. Require experience using quantitative methods to solve complex, analytical problems. Require a fundamental knowledge of relational database concepts as related to business information systems and a high level understanding of structured query languages and other information access techniques. Must be conversant in data storage methodologies and database design techniques in order to communicate effectively with Information Technology personnel to reach a mutual understanding of business data needs.

KNOWLEDGE: Require a working knowledge of the principles and practices in the areas of statistical and quantitative analysis, benchmarking, metrics and measures, and the development and tracking of performance standards. Require demonstrated ability to interpret business data and understand how data is transformed into information and knowledge and how that knowledge supports and enables key business processes. Require knowledge of data analysis and modeling tools to ensure model integrity and the ability to apply the models to business decisions.

SKILLS: Require effective leadership skills, excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to work in a team environment. Require analytical and problem solving skills and the capability of constructive planning and organizing. Require the ability to handle, interpret and translate complex quantitative analysis, facilitate data collection between a broad variety of personnel and multiple departments, and write, review, and present final reports to all levels of the organization. Require the skills to work in a continually changing, customer-focused environment, and the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional organization. Require excellent research, analytical, organizational, and mathematical skills.
