Our client located near Carrolton, GA has a direct hire opportunity for an AP Coordinator.
The AP Coordinator leads and coordinates all aspects of the Accounts Payable functions to ensure compliance with GAAP standards and company policies.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Ensures 3-way voucher match and invoice approval compliance according to GAAP standards and company policies.
• Prioritizes invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms.
• Investigates and resolves discrepancies with vendors or internal purchasing agents and departments.
• Verifies proper GL coding and posts Accounts Payable batches to General Ledger.
• Tracks company credit card charges and reconciles statements.
• Coordinates the disbursement of all written checks.
• Responds to all vendor inquiries.
• Gathers and records monthly Use Tax amounts.
• Prepares monthly Account Payable accruals.
• Assists in Tag Control and other physical inventory duties.
• Assists with Month-End Close process and Year-End audits as needed.
• Assists in the training and work flow of clerical associates.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, and schedule form
• Have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Lotus Notes or similar application software. Experience with JD Edwards and Crystal Reports preferred.



EDUCATION/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS
Prefer candidates with the following education and experience or equivalent combination of education and experience:
• Associate’ s Degree in accounting, business, or related field or equivalent accounting experience.
• Familiarity with GAAP standards.
